Special Olympics Soccer Skills Competition

The Soccer Skills athletes of the Woodstock Special Olympics team took the field April 15th and they did an amazing job.  Eight athletes participated and they showed great ball handling, kicking and coordination skills.

Special Olympics Rhythmic Gymnastics team rocks the competition!

The Woodstock Special Olympics team rocked the floor yesterday at the Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition!  It was the largest team at the event.  Many family members and friends also attended showing their support and cheering the athletes on during the competition.  Hats off to everyone who attended!  In true Special Olympics fashion, the meet was supposed to be over around 11:00am, but didn't end until around 2:00pm.

District launches new online newsletter

Beginning this month, District 200 parents, staff and community representatives will receive a new monthly electronic publication from the school district called e-Focus.

Life Connections Transition Program

D200 has a Life Connections Transition Program. It is about students learning to be independent. The teachers who are involved in the Life Connections are Mrs. Henning and Mrs. Nussbaum. The associates are Mrs. Oliver and Mrs. Krzciuk. The program teaches students to live independently, get a job, and maintain a job.

D200 student athlete to compete in Special Olympics World Games

Cody Missimer, a 2009 Woodstock High School graduate and current Life Connections Program student,  has been selected as a member of the Illinois delegation of Team USA to compete in the 2011 Special Olympics World Games in Athens, Greece.
